Zil-Haj moon not sighted in Sudia Arabia, Eid-ul-Azha on Sept 1 RIYADH: The Zil-Haj crescent was not sighted on Monday evening in Saudi Arabia, which means Eid-ul-Azha will be on September 1 (Friday) this year, Arab media reported. The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia said, 'Zul Hijjah crescent not sighted'. The court will meet again on Tuesday to issue a decision regarding the moon sighting. Based on the sighting of the moon, the month of Zil-Hajj in Saudi Arabia will begin on Wednesday, August 23. Therefore, August 31 will be the (Day of Arafah), and September 1 will be the first day of Eid-ul-Azha. While in Pakistan, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets today for sighting of Zil-Haj moon. Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman will chair the meeting.
