Junaid Jamsheed's family members termed the news about second and third marriage baseless Popstar-turned-religious preacher Junaid Jamshed left behind a widow, Ayesha Junaid, three sons, Taimur, Saif and Baber, and daughter Zehra. Humayun Jamshed, brother of Junaid, while talking to newsmen, said Ayesha Junaid and the children were at home. The family members termed the news about second and third marriage of Junaid baseless. They said Junaid had gone to Chitral for preaching. The PIA passengers’ list showing Neha Junaid his wife was an error. A large number of relatives, political and social personalities rushed to Junaid’s home located at Phase VI, DHA. Fakhir, a relative of the deceased preacher of Islam, told The Nation that Junaid was very humble to everyone and supported relatives, friends and every person within his social circle. He said nobody believed his sudden death. One Khurram said he had been his friend since he was a pop singer. “I never saw any change in his temperament even after his becoming a religious preacher. He had left the music world, but remained in touch with all his friends.” He mentioned his last tweet: “Heaven on the earth, Chitral; with my friends in the path of Allah, snow-packed Tirchmir right behind us”. Cricketer Moin Khan, artist Adnan Siddiqiue, Raju Jamil and various other personalities gathered at Junaid’s home, expressing deep grief over his death. On the other side, Captain Saleh Janjua of the ill-fated plane, a resident of Overseas Society, Gulistan-e-Johar, died in the same plane crash. Sources in the Civil Aviation Authority revealed the deceased captain’s father, Iftikhar Janjua, was also killed in a similar plane crash in Katmandu on September 28, 1992. PIA chairman, CEO condole with bereaved families PIA Chairman Azam Saigol and CEO Bernd Hildenbrand also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. On their directions, as per international aviation requirements, an emergency response centre has been set up at PIA Headquarters, Karachi, from where senior PIA management is monitoring the situation.
