The Difference Between Goat and Donkey Meat-How to Identify Donkey's Meat?

The Difference Between Goat and Donkey Meat-How to Identify Donkey's Meat? For a few years, donkey meat is being served in parts of Pakistan as a replacement of mutton. Muslims of London, New York, Dubai, and Toronto have requested the government of Pakistan to take serious action against the sellers of donkey meat. t is a matter of great concern to identify animal species of origin in meat and meat products as per religious, economical, legal as well as medical aspects. There are, however, some analytical techniques through which the identification procedure of meat becomes easy. The very first and lesser-used technique is DNA procedure. It is obvious that DNAs of all species are different from one another. This study is done on the basis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) which is the only authentic and appropriate method employed for identifying species in raw and processed meat. In our country Pakistan, this is not possible for every individual to bring samples of meat to labs for DNA identification. Thus, here the government can play its role. There should be inspection teams in every area that can collect samples of meat from different sellers. These samples can then be sent to laboratories for PCR techniques including randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (PCR-RAPD), restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP), and others. In the light of lab reports, actions can be taken against those who are selling ‘haram meat’. These days, Pakistani and Chinese people are suffering a lot from the issue of being served with donkey meat. Until or unless strict actions are not taken by government, it seems that we cannot get rid of this problem. On different forums and social media websites, individuals of Dubai, London, New York, and Toronto have shown doubts if the fate of Pakistan would ever change or not.
