Homeless Girl Found Under Abbasiya Bridge Belongs to Wealthy Egyptian Family

Homeless Girl Found Under Abbasiya Bridge Belongs to Wealthy Egyptian Family When people spotted a young girl wearing worn-out clothes and sleeping under the Abbasiyah bridge in Cairo, they took her for a homeless. A passer-by took her photo and posted it on Facebook, hoping that some social institution would save her. But when the photo was published, many people recognised the 20-year-old and said she belonged to a wealthy family in El Mahalla, according to an Al Arabiya report. Several social media users said her name is Salwa, but added their relation with her has been strictly limited to social media networks. A team comprising a doctor, nurses and medics from a social services institution went to the Abbasiyah bridge By the time they got there, the police had picked her up and taken her to the police station to identify her and reunite her with her family. The social services team then rushed to the police station and the girl was put under their care, the report adds. The social services institution said Salwa has suffered severe psychological trauma.
